Nikki Clark Marketing is a marketing consultancy in Acomb, near Hexham in Northumberland, run by Nikki Clark, a marketing consultant with seventeen years of senior experience. It helps small business owners across Hexham, Tynedale and Northumberland get found online through websites, local SEO, AI search visibility, social media and campaigns, all explained in plain English.

A good one works out where your future customers are looking, makes sure your business shows up there, and turns lookers into enquiries. In practice, for my clients in Northumberland, that means websites that get found on Google, a strong Google Business Profile, visibility in AI search, steady social media and the occasional well aimed campaign. All done for you, or taught to you, whichever you prefer.

I am based in Acomb, just outside Hexham, and most of my clients are across Northumberland and the North East: Hexham, Corbridge, Ponteland, Morpeth, Alnwick, Newcastle and the villages in between. For local clients I will happily come to you. I also work with businesses further afield by phone and video call.
-
Most of my work is fixed price, agreed before we start, so there are no surprises. As a rough guide: a one off review costs a few hundred pounds, a full website build sits in the low thousands, and ongoing monthly support starts from a few hundred pounds a month. Tell me your situation through the contact form and I will give you a straight answer with real numbers.
-
Not remotely, and you are in good company: most of my clients would describe themselves the same way. You never need to log in to anything, learn any jargon or touch a dashboard unless you want to. I handle the technical side and report back in plain English. If you would like to learn, I offer friendly one to one training too.

AI search means customers asking tools like ChatGPT or Google's AI features for recommendations, for example "best dog friendly cafe near Hexham", instead of scrolling through links. The AI names specific businesses in its answer. Small businesses whose information online is clear, consistent and well structured are far more likely to be recommended. It is new, most local businesses have not caught up, and that is precisely the opportunity.
-
Yes and yes. I design and build websites on Squarespace for small businesses across Northumberland, written and structured to be found on Google and in AI search. Then I train you to run it yourself, with simple written guides, so you never depend on a developer. If you would rather never touch it, I can manage it for you monthly instead.
-
Yes. My light touch management service, Keeping you visible, keeps your pages active with posts that sound like you, keeps an eye on messages, and sends you a short monthly summary. One simple monthly amount, no long contract. You get on with running your business; your pages stop being a source of guilt.

With an agency you often pay for people you never meet. With me, the person you meet is the person who does the work, start to finish. You get senior level experience (seventeen years, including leading marketing across the UK and Europe) without agency overheads, and a local consultant who will actually drive to your business, because your business is worth understanding properly.
-
Honestly, it depends what we are doing. Tidying your Google Business Profile can lift local visibility within days. A new website starts working the moment it launches. Ranking on Google for local searches typically takes weeks to a few months. My own website reached page one for "Marketing Consultant Hexham" in eleven days, but I will always give you realistic timescales for your situation rather than promises.
-
No. Project work is fixed price with no ongoing tie in, and monthly support runs month to month with just a month's notice to stop. I would much rather keep your business by being useful than by contract.
-
Established small businesses across Northumberland: holiday lets, B&Bs and tourism businesses, salons and clinics, trades, makers, professional practices and rural businesses. The common thread is owners who are brilliant at what they do, want to be found by more customers, and would rather someone trustworthy handled the online side.

I read it personally and reply within one working day, usually to arrange a relaxed conversation by phone or over a coffee if you are local to Hexham. We talk about your business and what you want to happen. If I can help, I will send a short plain English proposal. If I honestly think you do not need me, I will tell you that too.
-
Not at all. I'm based just outside Hexham, a few miles from Hadrian's Wall, but I work with small and medium sized businesses right across the UK. If you need marketing support I am here to help.
