Lots of small business owners are stuck with a website they cannot update, built years ago by someone they have lost touch with, on a system nobody explained. Every little change means finding "a website person" and waiting. So the site quietly goes out of date, and out of date websites lose customers.

I build websites differently. I design and build your site properly, on Squarespace, a system genuinely designed for non technical owners. Then I train you to run it yourself: changing prices, adding photos, writing news. When we are done, you own everything, you can update anything, and you never need a developer again. If you would rather not touch it at all, I can look after it for you instead. Your choice.

Built to be found, not just to look nice

A pretty website nobody visits is a very expensive brochure in a locked drawer. Every website I build includes the things that make Google and AI assistants take notice: research into what your customers search for, pages written in their words, the technical signals search engines and AI engines read (set up invisibly behind the scenes), your Google Business Profile connected and complete, and measurement so you can see real people arriving. It is the same approach that put my own site on page one of Google within eleven days of launch.

  • It depends on the size and what you need it to do, and I will always give you a clear fixed price before we start rather than a vague day rate. As a guide, most of my website projects for Northumberland small businesses sit in the low thousands, with everything included: design, writing, search visibility work, training and handover. No surprise invoices, ever.

  • Yes. I build on Squarespace specifically because it is designed for non technical owners. Changing text, prices and photos is about as difficult as writing an email. I train you in person, give you short written guides for the things you will do most, and I am on the end of the phone if you ever get stuck.

  • Also completely fine. Plenty of my clients prefer the done for you route, where I look after the website month by month: updates, new content, and keeping everything healthy. You just email me what needs changing and consider it done.

  • Often, yes. If your current site has good bones I will happily refresh and optimise rather than rebuild, and I will tell you honestly which it needs. The starting point is a review of what you have, which we can arrange through the contact form.
